Why Small Businesses Need Video On Their Website
The time has come for EVERY small business owner to realize s/he MUST have a decent website – and preferably one that is well optimized for his/her market … that is, unless they want their business to die a slow & agonizing death over the next 3 to 5 years.
Online videos (those viewed on the internet and/or mobile phones) are here to stay. Research has proven that the vast majority of people (across all age brackets) prefer to watch a video than read an article. Add to that the reality that videos – when done properly – are more emotionally charged than the written word, and you quickly begin to understand the power of using videos to reach your target market.
Right now, over 50% of internet users view at least 1 video each month and that number is expected to continue climbing. YouTube alone gets 30 MILLION visitors a month! (How many of those visitors would you like to capture the attention of?!)
It isn’t enough to just have a video posted online at YouTube. If your goal is to get more business, (and what business owner isn’t after that?!) you have to know how to market your video online so that it attracts more customers/clients to your local business. So how exactly do you do that?
Firstly, you have to get your site listed on all the major video hubs. Then, you create specific videos that answer some common questions/problems your ideal customers/clients frequently have, in an inviting & friendly manner. After the video is edited, it needs to be properly linked, tagged & described. And lastly, it should be added to your website and distributed to all the major video hubs online so that your customers can find it – and ultimately YOUR BUSINESS.
The good news is this process is fairly simple & straightforward so you could definitely do it on your own.
